Swimming
METRO SCHOOL AQUATICS PROGRAM
Dear Parents/Guardians:
Aquatics is a very important part of Metro’s adapted P.E. program and all students have the opportunity to swim as often as weekly (occasionally less frequently due to scheduling/safety issues), unless medical conditions preclude this. Swimming is a great form of exercise, builds self-confidence, and makes students safer in and around the aquatic environment.
Students will need the following items sent to school. PLEASE MARK ALL ITEMS CLEARLY WITH STUDENT’S NAME!!! This will help avoid mix-ups.
Small sized rubber pants and “Little Swimmers” are available at many drug and retail stores.
Thank you for your continued support and cooperation. We look forward to a great year of swimming.

- A one piece bathing suit for girls and lined trunks with a way to secure them at the waist for boys.
- Towel
- Pool shoes (many of our students end up getting small cuts on the bottoms of their feet from walking in the pool, so these will protect their tender feet.)
- Snug fitting lined rubber pants (these can be purchased on our on-line store) or “little swimmers” pull ups for our younger/smaller students.
- Hairbrush or comb and hair elastics for girls with longer hair.
